AmCham Mongolia welcomes a new Executive Director

ULAANBAATAR – The Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mongolia is pleased to announce that Mr. Adiya Oyungerel has been appointed as its new Executive Director, effective immediately. Adiya Oyungerel previously served as the Director of Policy and Advocacy of AmCham for two years and was responsible for designing, building and implementing the advocacy efforts of AmCham’s policy initiatives.

Adiya has extensive work experience in the private sector with Oyu Tolgoi, the government, and a number of development agencies including EBRD, UN and the SDC. Adiya holds an MBA from the University of Sheffield in UK with a major in FDI Promotion. Adiya currently sits on Mongolia’s Investment Protection Council, initiated under auspices of Prime Minister, as one of the three private sector representatives in the council.

Following the appointment Mr. Adiya said, “I am honored and excited to take on the role of Executive Director of AmCham Mongolia after working as the Director of Policy and Advocacy” and highlighted his commitment further enhance AmCham membership service quality and organizational capacity by saying, “I will lead AmCham as a paramount business organization through a strong, specific and forward looking strategy and strive to bring about concrete positive changes in the business environment to make Mongolia a destination for global investment.”

Chairman of the AmCham Mongolia Board of Directors Jay Liotta commented, “I am delighted that Adiya is appointed as AmCham’s Executive Director. Adiya played a crucial role in improving AmCham’s advocacy and policy efforts. His professionalism and broad knowledge of the business and political environment of the country was fundamental in determining Amcham’s major policy papers advocating for our members, and strengthening the commercial relationship between the United States and Mongolia.
